Pike Place Market's Re-Team works on greening efforts at the Market year-round. These efforts create real results! In one year:

25,000 gallons of recycled cooking oil is converted to 22,500 gallons of bio diesel

1,950 cubic yards of food waste and other compostables are sent to Cedar Grove for composting

4,000 cubic yards of commingled recycling are removed from the Market's waste stream

250 tons of cardboard are recycled

1 million kilowatts a year are saved from the conversion of incandescent to CFL lighting

We want to celebrate Earth Day every day by taking steps to reduce, reuse and recycle at Pike Place Market.
