If 10,000 daffodils could be the equivalent of at least 10,000 smiles, then the Pike Place Market’s annual Daffodil Day would be a great example of a generator for positivity for downtown Seattle residents and visitors.
This year Daffodil Day will be celebrating its 20th anniversary while gracefully honoring the first day of spring. Community members and volunteers will be handing out 10,000 locally grown daffodils to residents, workers and visitors at 15 downtown Seattle locations on Monday, March 20 from 11:45 am -1 pm.
Of course Daffodil Day would not be what it is without the support from the dedicated farmers who take the time to plant, grow and harvest each cheerful flower. This year we would like to thank the following farmers:
Chai and Chee Cha from Shong Chao’s Farm in Carnation
Kiseng Cha from Hmong Highland Garden in Monroe
John and Lita Mendez from John and Lita’s Farm in Pacific
Teng and Lavou Jasengnou from Woodinville Valley Farm in Carnation
