Meet the Producer: Santos Farm

Posted June 30, 2015

Husband-and-wife team Eric and Clarita Santos have sold produce and flowers in Pike Place Market for more than 30 years. They got their start selling vegetables and later moved into growing flowers in the late 1980s. Today, you'll find them selling their gorgeous bouquets at the corner stall nearest Rachel the Piggy Bank and Pike Place Fish, right under the famous Market neon clock.

Eric's parents immigrated from the Philippines, where they were factory workers. They became farmers, a tradition that Eric and his five siblings have continued. Today, Eric and Clarita grow some 30 flower varieties on their 18 acres in Carnation, east of Seattle.

You'll find Eric and Clarita at the Market seven days a week. Each day, they arrive at 6 a.m. to get set up for a busy day at the Market. Local Market-goers can attest that the Santos show no signs of slowing down.
