Mother’s Day weekend got a whole lot more a-MOM-zing!

Bring Mom to Pike Place Market for a fun-filled pre-day celebration on Saturday, May 11, 2019.

All 9-acres will play host to an unforgettable afternoon. Enjoy live music, kids’ activities, pop-up murals, Sasquatch sightings, craft demonstrations and more.

Mom’s Market Day will take place during the 11th annual Flower Festival, which runs Saturday and Sunday. Come for the flowers, but stay for the memories!

SPECIAL OFFER*: Visitors who spend $50 or more in the Market on Saturday can choose either a parking voucher for one hour of complimentary parking in the Pike Place Market Garage or a custom designed Flower Festival tote printed on-site by Market artist, Kevin Darras. Find 8 Pop-Up Murals: Back by popular demand! Eight flower-themed pop-up murals will be painted throughout the Market. These murals are all interactive and make great photos for you or the whole family.

The murals will be up from May 9 through approximately June 4. Try to find all eight before they disappear!

 

MarketFront Plaza

Photo Op: Step out onto the MarketFront to get your photo taken with oversized “MOM” letters decorated by our local Market flower merchants. Visitors can also sample some delicious Market treats from a number of our amazing food merchants.

 

MarketFront Pavilion

Temporary Tattoos: Show how much you love mom by getting a “Mom” tattoo (don’t worry; they are only temporary). We will have a tattooing booth set up on the MarketFront Pavilion to apply custom temporary tattoos designed by local artist, Dan Gregory.

Maker Moms: Learn how to basket weave, create a tree of life design using wire wrapping, and the art of Shibori dyeing from three Maker Moms; Jacinthe Two Bulls, Megan Carlisle, and Tiffany Ju. There is limited space for Shibori dyeing so grab a spot while you still can: https://buff.ly/2Y6bBjC

Mother’s Day Cards: If you forgot to make your Mom a card for Mother’s Day, worry not! Market artists have created handmade cards for sale; proceeds benefit the Safety Net fund.

Live Art Photo Board: Snap the perfect Flower Festival picture when you step into Ernesto Ybarra’s live art. Ybarra has created a one of a kind flower-themed interactive photo board that mom will love.

 

DownUnder

Meet Mama Sasquatch: On Level 3 take a picture with Mama Sasquatch and join her Garden Party. We hear she is giving out something sweet! (Noon - 4 p.m.)

Cookie Decorating: On Level 4 join Atrium Kitchen for a flower cookie decorating party. (Noon - 3 p.m.)

Mother’s Day Shopping: The DownUnder is where you will find the most unique shops and some guaranteed great gifts for Mother’s Day.

 

Western Avenue

Explore Western Avenue: Explore the shops on Western Ave and pick up a Passport.

Get a stamp from every store on the Passport and be entered to win over $300 in prizes including Cobbs Popcorn, Seattle Skylines Coffee Mugs, Coffee, Paella Cookbook, DIY craft kits, gift certificates to multiple shops and more!
