Here’s your Mother’s Day cheat sheet for a fabulous day out with mom at Pike Place Market. Just remember the four F’s — Flowers, Food, Fashion and Fun — and you can’t go wrong!
The 10th annual Flower Festival takes place this Saturday and Sunday, May 12 and 13, right on the historic cobblestones of Pike Place. Tent after tent will line the street, each filled with beautiful stems and gorgeous bouquets from local farmers that are sure to wow the moms in your life. The only hard part will be deciding which arrangement to buy!
Is your mom an early riser? Start the day off right with a crumpet and a cup of chai from The Crumpet Shop (left). Not an early bird? No problem! Sit down to mid-morning brunch featuring Bananas Foster French Toast at Red Cedar & Sage, Dungeness Crab Quiche at Café Campagne (right) or a Springtime Omelet from Steelhead Diner. If you already have plans during the day, we recommend treating mom to a classic Italian dinner at IL Bistro — delizioso!
Jewelry and accessories are classic Mother’s Day gifts that are sure to impress. Find something inspiring like an engraved bracelet from Hammering Girl, one-of-a-kind rings from Sabando Design, modern metal earrings from Knuckle Kiss (pictured above), unique micro pendants from Silver Cherry, and much more handcrafted gifts from hundreds of local artisans in the crafts market.
Share an experience and create memories with mom that she’ll cherish forever! Sign up for a cooking class in the Atrium Kitchen or workshop at a Pike Place Market business where you can take a Market-to-Table Tour and Cooking Class with Chef Traci, learn about Old World / New World Cheese, or create handmade wreaths while enjoying indi chocolate. Happy Mother’s Day!
