Farmers also receive support from the Market in order to grow and sustain successful farm businesses. Through educational programming and one-on-one technical assistance, we strive to help farmers overcome challenges and continue to strengthen Washington State's local food system.

Merchandizing Refresh - Market Classroom

After the summer rush and before the holiday season, now is a great time to refresh your merchandising and display strategies to engage customers in different ways. This calss will offer a toolbox of tips, tricks, and low-cost/high impact ways you can refresh your product and window displays as well as your customer service tactics. This workshop will be held in the Pike Place Market Classroom.

Humanlinks Grant -Work Session -Market Commons

Have you heard of the Humanlinks Grant? Tilth Alliance and the Humanlinks Foundation have partnered to support farmers seeking financial assistance for projects that will improve the economic viability, social impacts or environmental sustainability of their businesses. This grant program is open to all Washington State farmers who are certified organic or employ majority organic practices on their farm. Please join in the Pike Place Market Commons for this work session to learn more about the grant program and get one on one assistance writing your Humanlinks Grant application before it is due!

2019 Seed Program - Market Commons

Would you like to diversify your farm production and mitigate risk? Please join us for the 2019 seed swap. Farmers will have two hours to select new varieties of seeds for the upcoming season as well as talking to our Farm Program Coordinator to learn about crops desired for the 2018 Pike Box Program. This event will also include crop planning and recordkeeping tools for farmers. *This event is open to Pike Place Market farmers only

Cascadia Grains Conference - Olympia

Now in its 7th year, this is the mainstay event of our year: over 400 growers, processors, distributers and end-users gather to answer the question "How do we make a local grain economy work?" This year the conference will also include Friday field trips to showcase baking, brewing and distilling, and two amazing tasting events! MORE INFO

Annual WSFMA Conference - Marcus Whitman Hotel in Walla Walla

This 3-day event brings together farmers market staff, board members, partner organizations, vendors, and volunteers for targeted workshops and training opportunities, dynamic speakers, fun-filled social/networking events, local tours, and the Washington State Farmers Market Association's annual member meeting.

In 2019, we'll also be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Washington State Farmers Market Association. Over the last 15 years, this conference has been a much-anticipated event, each year building on the success of the last. MORE INFO
